The Wedding Day
Our day begins with documenting the bride and groom preparations. Details of the morning will be photographed; the wedding gown and shoes, flowers and any special gifts or jewellery. Bridal hair and make-up, followed by finishing touches as the dress is fastened and the veil is placed. Then, often the person to give the bride away, be it the father of the bride or another close family member, will see her for the first time and the emotion starts to show! The Groom, best man and ushers will also be photographed as the time creeps closer to leaving for the ceremony.
The ceremony will be photographed from the bride's arrival through the ceremony itself, to greeting guests and confetti shots if the venue allows. Restrictions for photographers can vary during a wedding ceremony and some churches have strict rules for where and when the photos can take place. We will work with the wedding officiant to abide by these rules whilst capturing beautiful moments throughout your ceremony.
You are now husband and wife (or husband and husband, wife and wife, please excuse the generic 'bride & groom' references if this is the case), congratulations!
We understand that group images can be important (sometimes to other family members more than perhaps yourselves) and we are happy do take these quickly, without fuss so you can carry on enjoying your wedding! If you wish to have any group photographs, the reception venue is normally where we would do this. Specific shots can be discussed before the day to make sure time is maximised. We will then take you away for just a short time to capture some newly-wed portraits, this is usually around 15 minutes and then it's back to the celebrations.
We will photograph throughout the speeches, laughing and sometimes crying behind the camera along with your other guests. The rest of the day will be spent taking candid photographs of you and your guests and will finish with your 'first dance'.
As all weddings are different and more importantly your wedding is about you, this way of doing things is how we generally work to produce the images we know are going to tell the story of your day. If you feel like you have a different idea of how you would like things to go (more or less group shots, more time alone as a couple, specific shots which are 'set-up' but you have your heart set on) let us know! We will do our best to accommodate your individual needs and wants.
